Indian staffing sector draws 0.22 million workforce in 2021-22

The Indian staffing sector has successfully drawn 0.22 million workforces over the past two years, which is 21.9% (source: Economic Times) higher than the standard workforce addition in 2021. According to ISF Annual Report 2021-22, for general staffing, the net new employment grew 21% more with the addition of 0.15 million workforces when the rest was in professional and IT services.

Amidst the steady growth of the general staffing industry, the temporary staffing market has also shown notable growth over the past few years. Put simply, the staffing sector is poised to create a giant leap in the future. The staffing industry has grown at a rate of 20-25% a year over the past five years, and it's not even remotely demonstrating any signs of slowing down as yet.

Be it general staffing or temporary staffing, the process for both involves sourcing the candidates with the best skills, personality, and experience analysis to see if they fit the job. It involves a series of assembling and reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and finally selecting, followed by onboarding the candidate to begin working for the company. The staffing industry essentially offers a platform for reputable employment, reasonable compensation, work choice, health benefits, and yearly benefits for the temporary workforce.

Temporary staffing describes a circumstance wherein an organization hires employees on a temporary basis, whether for the long term or until a specific task is completed. If you are not up to investing in hiring full-time employees, you can consider temporary staffing for the below-mentioned benefits:

  1. Scale up your workplace - Undertaking a new project? Seeking to transform a business functionality? Use temporary staffing as it's fast and efficient to scale up your workforce on short notice.

  2. Fast-track staffing - Temporary employees can usually begin to work within a few days only, avoiding prolonged notice periods and even taxing the interview process. A good temporary staffing company will have a large pool of temporary workers ready to put into action immediately.

  3. Try before you buy - Most organizations take temporary workers on a working interview with a full-time job on offer in case certain things go extremely well. And, if a temporary worker is not suited to one role, they may be an ideal fit somewhere else in the organization.
